ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English is the language of instruction at IIE Â鶹¹ú²ú. Therefore, students must meet the English language requirement in order to be eligible for admission. In so doing, you must supply evidence that you meet these requirements. Find out more about providingÌýcertified copies.

Acronyms and Abbreviations

NSC – National Senior Certificate (completed Grade 12 in and after 2008)
SC HG – Senior Certificate Higher Grade (completed Grade 12 before 2008)
SC SG – Senior Certificate Standard Grade (completed Grade 12 before 2008)
IEB – Independent Examination Board
NC(V) – National Certificate Vocational

International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

  • A minimum score of 6.5 (no band lower than 6)

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

  • Paper based – a score of 550 or more, with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of 4.5 or more.
  • Internet based – at least 79 overall, 21 for writing, 12 for listening, 13 for reading, 18 for speaking

International students

  • A pass in English at A level, O level at a minimum of a B, International Baccalaureate or equivalent. The APS conversion table can be used to verify whether a student qualifies.
