ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING

Why Study Electrical and Electronic Engineering?

The shortage of skilled electrical engineers has a widespread effect on South Africa and the African continent at large, affecting the country’s functioning in the globalised business environment and economy. Studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering will give you the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge that are in high demand, making you sought after by many potential employers. There is also significant demand for Electrical and Electronic Engineers in most countries around the world. The programme will open opportunities for you to work anywhere in the world.

You will be well-prepared to enter into the industry upon graduating, as, unlike traditional Engineering programmes, the IIE degree offered at IIE Â鶹¹ú²ú will expose you to the role of Engineering in the real world as early as the first year of the programme. Our electrical engineering programme ensures that you are equipped with first-hand experience of the value that Engineering adds to improving the quality of lives in communities.

This qualification will provide you with the basic electrical engineering skills, knowledge and insights to reach a deeper understanding of managing the built environment, through the application of the principles learnt in the tertiary phase.

To study Electrical and Electronic Engineering you can enrol for the IIE Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree offered at IIE Â鶹¹ú²ú. If direct access to this degree is not possible, you can explore entry through the five-year extended Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree or the Foundation Programme Engineering, also offered at IIE Â鶹¹ú²ú.
